Applications of supercapacitors

There are basically two main application categories for which the supercapacitors are interesting:

1)      the high power applications for which the batteries have a too high series resistance

2)      the maintenance free applications which cant' be provided by the batteries.

Due to the high power density, the supercapacitors are predestined for existing and new applications in the automotive engineering, railway traction, telecommunication systems, industrial, medical and consumer electronics. The following examples give an overview of the different possibilities.
